Voices - Past, Present and Future Concert - 4th July

A magical evening with songs and music performed by volunteer members of the IBCC Community Choir and Orchestra led by our Musical Director Clare Bauckham and orchestra leader Greta Marshall.

Both uplifting and poignant, the concert, hosted by Melvyn Prior, will tell the story of the International Bomber Command Centre and its aims of promoting Reconciliation, Remembrance and Recognition, while honouring the huge sacrifice made by those who served with Bomber Command during the Second World War.

The repertoire will include first ever performances of Remember written by John Roy Walsh and set to music by our own Clare Bauckham and an orchestral piece written by one of our hugely talented musicians Rachel Williams.

The evening will also contain a few wartime singalong favourites such as Nightingale and Dambusters, combined with more modern pieces.  These will be interspersed with poignant poems and readings reflecting the theme of Voices from the Past, Present and Future all combining to make it an unforgettable evening not to be missed!
